The land of Bouvet is the only home our adventurers have ever known. It is a mostly frozen land, with temperatures hovering just above freezing. Only the land near the coast is arable. The coast is also the only area that receives significant daylight, with the sun only a quarter visible over the horizon at midday. Inland, the world grows increasingly darker and colder, and snow storms are more frequent and powerful.
The main settlement is the town of Long Fall, filled mostly with humans but also elves, dwarves, and gnomes. Smaller settlements dot the coast and a few lie further inland, especially near the area of taiga forest to the southeast. All of the settlements are governed by the Temple of the Light, its orders dispersed by the Beacons in their various churches. The ultimate leader is the Light Warden, whose main representative is the High Beacon, dwelling in the Lighthouse of Long Fall.
